Norma H. Mettler
Norma H. Mettler, age 88 of Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012. She was born May 9, 1924. On September 16, 1942 she married James L. Mettler. Sadly, he preceded her in death on January 1, 1997.Norma enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Surviving Norma is her son Dale Mettler of Springfield, Tenn; her daughters Rochelle (Doug) Bird of Tecumseh and Norma (Jack) Majewski of Clearwater, Fla; her grandchildren Jennifer (David) Farinha, Kim (Chris) Williams, Lee (Anne) Bird, and April Mettler; great grandchildren Gunnar, Peyton, and Rylie Farinha, Jaden and Lacey Williams, and Maxwell Bird. In addition to her husband James, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, and her granddaughter Angie Mead.At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will take place at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28 from 1–3 p.m. Inurnment will be at the Columbarium of First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
