Norma Lee Myers
Norma Lee Myers, age 90, of Tecumseh, passed peacefully with family by her side from this life to her forever home in Heaven on May 21, 2013.Norma was born in (Avery County) Roaring Creek, N.C. on June 11, 1922 to the late Rome and Jenny (Easter) Hughes. On April 23, 1945 she married Johnie Cameron Myers in Elizabethton, Tenn. and he preceded her in death.Norma has seven children, Brenda (Peyton) Bunting, (deceased) formerly of Tecumseh — Joe (Diane) Myers of Lancaster, Ohio — J. C. (Dee Doroghazy) Myers of Adrian — Margaret (Eugene, deceased) Bates of Lancaster, Ohio — Ruth (John, deceased) Curtis of Tecumseh — Donna Snead (deceased) formerly of Adrian and Pennie (Wayne) Mayes of Tecumseh. Norma also has 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Mamo” to many others.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Gene Hurley officiating. Entombment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.
