Laura E. O’Brien, age 91, of Tecumseh, formerly of Adrian, died Wednesday, December 05, 2012, at Cambrian Assisted Living. She was born November 3, 1921 in California to Charles and Esther (Markling) Cooke. She received a B.A. from U.C.L.A. Laura worked at the Adrian Training School for 31 years as an Occupational Therapist, retiring in January of 1987. Laura was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was a former member of Zonta, St. Joseph Catholic Church and their choir, and also the American Occupational Therapist’s Association.Laura is survived by two sisters, Esther Martin of California and Gertrude Cooke of Colorado; and two special friends, Sue Keagle and Noreen Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two brothers, Walter Cooke and Charles Cooke; and two sisters, Lucille McClanahan and Pauline Campbell.The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 12:00 noon, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh with Father Dan Wheeler as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where a Family Prayer Service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Burial will be on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Adrian.You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Hospice of Lenawee, Cambrian Assisted Living or the YMCA.
