Patriot boys take claws from Bobcats, win 83-72

BRITTON — For three-of-four quarters, Britton Deerfield’s varsity boys basketball team outscored Whiteford and broke even with the Bobcats in the final frame to finish with a 83-72 Tri-County Conference victory on Friday, Dec. 19.“The guys played hard from start ot finish,” said BD coach Darren Shiels. “We were happy with the pace of play. We want to play fast. I was happy with how we shared the ball, finishing with 19 assists and everyone scoring.”The Patriots took a 17-12 led after one quarter of play and closed the first half up 33-29.BD outscored the Bobcats 29-21 in the third quarter and both teams scored 21 points in the fourth and final quarter.Patriot senior Dallas Dusseau put up 22 points to lead all scorers. He also added three rebounds, four assists and five steals. BD junior Hayden Ross chipped in 11 points, seven boards, three assists and one block; senior Levi Woerner had nine points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks; and senior Ross Holubik, eight points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.Addison defeated the Patriots 80-69 on Monday, Dec. 15, with Paul Zysk posting a career-high 40 points.Dusseau led the Patriots with 18 points.
