Patriots defeat Reading in pre-districts

Only three touchdowns were scored in Britton Deerfield’s Division 7 pre-district varsity football game at Reading on Friday, Oct. 26, and the Patriots recorded two of them to advance to the next round of playoffs. BD won 14-7.BD took a 6-0 lead into the fourth quarter and added a touchdown and two-point conversion to increase the lead to 14-0 with 8:09 remaining in the game.Reading scored its only touchdown on a 62-yard breakaway run with 3:52 left in the final quarter.Kriss Iott scored for BD on a 77-yard pass from Nate Hoffman while Leighton Merritt added a touchdown on a 45-yard rush. Cody Meinert threw a two-point pass to Bret Taylor.The Patriots will travel to Dansville (8-2) on Friday, Nov. 2, in the district final.
