Pauline Dinkens

Pauline Dinkens, age 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at her home on September 19, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Paulie was born July 25, 1942, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Namety) Yerg in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from Burnham High School in 1960, she married Michael Dinkens on July 1, 1961 and they began their family together.Paulie and Mike moved to Tecumseh, Mich., where they raised their four children. During that time, she worked as an administrative secretary for Tecumseh Products. She and her husband, Mike, moved back to Ohio in 1986 and settled in Maumee, Ohio. She worked 17 years for Lucas County Children services as a secretary. Paulie loved the summer sun, watching birds, tending to her flowers and shopping. But her pride and joy were her eleven grandchildren that she spoiled every chance she got.Paulie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Mike Dinkens and her four children, Margo Dinkens, Tracy (Scott) Harvey, Angela Hite and Eugene (Angela) Dinkens. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Joe Dinkens, Bailey (Adam) Snider, Morgan Hite, Spencer Hite, Madison Harvey, Tatum Harvey, Whitney Hite, Nathan Dinkens, Nicholas Dinkens, Isabella Dinkens and Gianna Dinkens. Left to mourn her loss is her three sisters, Janet (Willard) Decker, Carol (Jerry) Fackler and Betty Jo (Cliff) Anthon along with a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jimmy Davis.A special thank you to all the wonderful caretakers who made Paulie’s last years comfortable. The family couldn’t have done it without you.Mom, may the sun always shine, the birds always sing and the butterflies always flutter as you enter this eternal chapter of your life. Visitation was from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Prayers began at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, with the funeral mass following at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio. Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
