Police locate driver who struck Tecumseh student on west Chicago Blvd.

Tecumseh police have located the driver of the vehicle that left the scene of a truck versus pedestrian injury crash that occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The crash occurred near the intersection of W. Chicago Blvd. and Cairns Street at 7:12 a.m.The driver was located using surveillance videos from the area that were obtained and reviewed by the police department, according to a press release issued by Tecumseh Police Chief Troy Stern.The driver was interviewed, and it was determined that he was unaware that he struck the victim. At this time the investigation continues and the report will be submitted to the prosecutor’s office for review.The medical status of the victim at this time remains unknown.Additional information may be released following the completion of the investigation and review by the prosecutor’s office.
