Priscilla Nan Murphy

Priscilla Nan Murphy, 76, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh surrounded by her family. She was born July 10, 1939 in Stambaugh, Mich., to the late Irving and Viola Hillson. She married Bruce Thomas Murphy on September 17, 1960 in Detroit, Mich., and he survives.

Priscilla was a long-time member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aide. In her later years she attended and became a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She loved being with her family, travelling with her husband and taking annual trips to the zoo with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included reading, scrapbooking, photography, gardening, bowling and dancing.

Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Terrilyn (Jeffrey) Waterbury and Theresa (Michael) Watkins both of Tecumseh, Mich.; siblings, Cynthia (Fred) Page of Dearborn, Mich., Irving Hillson of Redford, Mich., and Debra Brown of Farmington, Mich.; five grandchildren, Daniel (Carly) Waterbury, Sarah Waterbury, Megan Watkins, Katelyn Waterbury and Kelly Watkins and also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Priscilla will be held on Friday, June 17 from 4-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Cambrian and Hospice of Lenawee for their wonderful care.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
