Prospective residents say no to Tecumseh as a place to live

To the Editor,I don’t live in Tecumseh, but my wife and I are currently looking around for a place to buy a house and some land in Tecumseh. I work as a freelance copy editor and she does some online tutoring and has a flexible job that will allow us to move to a small town somewhere in Michigan. We’ve been following the Tecumseh chicken battle as well as the stuff going on in Muskegon and other places throughout the state regarding the Right to Farm issues that have been changing lately.I wanted to say thanks for your op-ed on the chicken issue and that I’m very disappointed in the city council with their recent decision. We’ve definitely taken Tecumseh off of our list of possible places to live. I think your op-ed was spot-on regarding this point. Hopefully, the stodgy folks on the city council and in the mayor’s office will realize that continuing down their current path will only alienate and disempower the type of people who work really hard to make their local communities strong. We’re this type of folk, but we will be taking our energies to some other town. Stephen BublitzTaylor
