Public open house set for apartments above Carpet On Wheels

A public open house is scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to introduce the residences created above Carpet on Wheels. The project was made possible through a partnership between the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Ed and Cheri Hull, Don Hull, Revitalize Inc., and the City of Tecumseh. The Hulls received two $35,000 grants through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to transform the storage space above their downtown Tecumseh business into living space. The Hulls were required to make one of the two apartments affordable to low to mid-income families, and the decision on tenants is made by the state. After five years, the grants will be forgiven, and the Hulls may rent to whomever they choose. The public is invited to see the new living spaces and enjoy light refreshments.
