Ralph B. Lauer

Ralph B. Lauer, age 87, of Tecumseh, died March 18, 2017 at Cambrian Assisted Living.

He was born January 27, 1930 in Fryburg, Pa., the son of Edward and Christina (Guth) Lauer. On August 23, 1952 he married Dolores M. Clark and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2013.

Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was retired from the Tecumseh Products Company.  Ralph was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Tecumseh American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the holidays.  Ralph enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, fishing in Canada, and rooting for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

Ralph is survived by a daughter, Evelyn (Thomas) Palek of Belvedere, Ill.; son, David (Sharlene) Lauer of Onsted; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Courtney) Lauer, Katie (Mike) Clark, Jeremy (Katie) Palek, Heather Lauer, Michael (Kristy) Zuehlke, Sarah (Collin) Wellsandt, Matt Zuehlke, Jennifer (Ken) Funk, Jessica (Nate) Kandler, and Kristen Zuehlke; 11 great-grandchildren, Kylie Lauer, Brianna Lauer, Emma Clark, Brady Clark, Morgan Funk, Madison Funk, Abigail Palek, Alleah Palek, Alexa Palek, Thomas Zuehlke, and Bradley Zuehlke, and brother, Charles (Sally) Lauer of Tecumseh.

In addition to his wife Dolores, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Zuehlke, and son, Ralph B. Lauer Ill.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating.

Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, with military honors performed by the United States Army.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
