Rita Marie Brehmer
Rita Marie Brehmer, age 87, of Adrian, passed away April 24, 2014 at home. Rita was born February 17, 1927 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar and Marie (Casey) Thompson.On October 15, 1949, she married Raymond D. Brehmer in Wayne, Mich.Rita retired from the State of Michigan MESC office in Adrian. She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and enjoyed sharing her fresh vegetables with neighbors and friends.Rita is survived by one son, Kevin Brehmer and three daughters; Nancy Walton of Auburn, Georgia, Lin Mallory of Granger, Indiana and Laurie O'Brien of Clinton, Mich.; six grandchildren; Jason and Kyle Mallory, Jennifer (Mallory) McHugh, Peter and Michael Walton and Jessica O'Brien and four great grandchildren, Victoria, Alexandra and Cole Walton and Griffin Mallory.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; one sister and two brothers.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich., at a later date.
