Roberta Jane Roost

Roberta Jane Roost, age 86, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Cambrian Assisted Living under Hospice of Lenawee. She was born the daughter of the late Robert C. and Phebe (Warner) Holmes Sr. on March 31, 1931 in Mosherville, Mich. She was united in marriage to Richard J. Roost on February 15, 1950.

Roberta was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church and active in the church. She was always involved in ceramics in many ways, whether it be making them, going to classes and teaching ceramic classes. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, anything to keep her hands busy. Roberta was kind, considerate and had a heart of gold.

Roberta is survived by her brother, Robert C. (Genny) Holmes Jr. of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard; two children, Richard James Roost and Rebecca Jane Vandecar; her brothers, Garland and Wesley Holmes; her sisters; Louis Baird, Maxine Close and Marvel Hockin.

A funeral service for Roberta was held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton United Methodist Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment followed at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton United Methodist Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
