Rodney Allen Sears

Rodney Allen Sears, age 67, passed away on July 3, 2015, at home, with his family by his side. He was born on February 7, 1948, in Wyandotte, Mich., to William S. and Constance G. (Freer) Sears. On May 16, 1970, Rodney married Jeane L. Ostrander at the Macon United Methodist Church and they enjoyed 45 years together.He had a Master’s Degree in Manufacture Engineering and worked in sales and marketing for Peerless Gear in Clinton and Tecumseh Products. Rodney loved movies of all kinds, was a great artist, loved going to Disney every year, traveling, and reading. He was a very resourceful man and had excellent skills as a handyman. But he really loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Jeane, son, Jason A. (Sheila) Sears of Tecumseh, daughters, Andrea J. (Jacob) Ost of Adrian, and Erin M. Sears of Pacifica, Calif., seven grandchildren, Ariel, Zachary, Wesley and Liam Sears, Natalie, Katelynn and Ryan Ost, brothers, Thomas G. (Diane) Sears of Oxford, Mich., and Scott M. (Melinda) Sears of Bowling Green, Ky., and grand-dog Parker Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger, a grandson, Kyle J. Ost and a grand-dog, Max.Funeral Service for Rodney were held on July 7, 2015, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Miller of Tecumseh Church of Nazarene officiating. Burial took place at Ridgeway Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in honor of Rodney may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Lenawee Humane Society.
