Ronald Jordan, age 67, of Tecumseh passed away May 10, 2014 at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital.
Ron was born February 11, 1947 in Royalton, Ky., the son of Calloway and Christine (Poe) Jordan. He married the love of his life, Donna Raye McMurray on November 26, 1969 in Adrian, she survives.
Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Army (1963-1965). He worked in the trucking industry for many years before opening and operating his own business, Melron Electronics, in 1992. Many people came to know Ron while bringing in their computers for repair. Everyone who knew and loved Ron appreciated his sense of humor and his kindness.
During his entire life Ron had a love and passion for music. He was an accomplished singer and bass player. He played in several bands over the years. He wrote and performed his own songs, at one point cutting a few records — one with bandmates, and one solo record in Nashville in the early 70’s.
Ron will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by his daughter Danielle of Tecumseh; brother Jack Jordan of Salyersville, Ky.; grandchildren Cecelia and Kayden; and many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Perry, three brothers: Melvin, Bob and Bill; and, his sister Judy.
A Memorial gathering to celebrate Ron’s life will be held Thursday, May 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home in Adrian. At 7:45 p.m. Military Funeral Honors will be performed by the US Army Honor Guard. Family would welcome flowers or donations in Ron’s name to Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust (http://cst.dav.org/donate).
