Ronald N. Baxter

Ronald N. Baxter, age 67 of Sand Lake, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the University of Michigan Hospitals. He was born March 3, 1945 the son of Oakley N. and Monema J. (Blakey) Baxter. On March 13, 1965 he married Sharon Green and she survives. He worked at Green’s Menswear from 1967 to 1982 until he became owner in 1982 until 2001; he then worked at Martin’s Home Center in Tecumseh for 11 years. Ron was a member of the Tecumseh First Baptist Church, the Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh, the Shriner’s and the Tecumseh Club.In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by three sons, Scott (Patricia Dean) Baxter of Atlanta, Ga., Thomas (Gina) Baxter of San Diego, Calif., and Tim (Jennifer) Baxter of Onsted; two sisters, Judy (Dean) Craig of Tecumseh, and Linda (Dan) DeVincenzo of Fairfax, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann (Douglas) Andrews of Jackson, Mich., and Meredith (Tony) Louden of Fort Meyers, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brianna, A.J., Jack, and Michael; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be held Friday, December 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Tecumseh First Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Maki officiating. Cremation will follow the services. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
