Rosealee Marie Hoelzer

Rosealee Marie Hoelzer, age 80, of Clinton, Mich., passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Bixby Hospital surrounded by her family. Rosealee was born June 16, 1936 in Bridgewater Twp., Mich., a daughter of the late James M. and Harriet B. Van Riper. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bridgewater Twp. and for most of her life she worked as a housekeeper for the Evangelical Home in Saline and later on worked as a crossing guard for Clinton Community Schools.

Rosealee is survived by her children, Carolyn A. (William) Duff of Jackson, Mich., Barbara K. Hoelzer of Adrian, Mich., Ralph E. (Brenda) Hoelzer of Ann Arbor, Mich., Martin J. Hoelzer of Jonesville, Mich., Douglas L. (Susan) Hoelzer of Tecumseh, Mich., Bonnie L. (Mitchell) Poffenbaugh of Bucyrus, Ohio and Steve E. Hoelzer of Adrian, Mich.; three sisters, Alice Kidd of Manchester, Mich., Virginia (Jack) Van Sickle of Onsted, Mich., and Rosemary Desbrough of Ypsilanti, Mich.; eleven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Van Riper; two sisters, Leora Udell and Cora Tournier; one grandson, Joshua Hoelzer and one great-grandson, Justin Wegner.

A Celebration of Life for Rosealee will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 8805 Austin Rd., Bridgewater, Mich., 48115 with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
