Roy Vernon Bergman

Roy Vernon Bergman, age 94, of Camden, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away March 27, 2014.Roy was born March 6, 1920 in Detroit, Mich., the son of Floyd and Nellie (Parker) Bergman. On June 4, 1942 he married Delphine Wayno in Fayetteville, N.C. and she survives. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. During his lifetime he was an attorney in North Carolina and retired as head adjudicator of the Veterans Administration in charge of the Eastern District of the United States. Roy was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, American Legion, Hillsdale, life member of the Adrian DAV and the BPO Elks, U.S.A.In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by two daughters; Roberta (Paul Jordan) Clayton of Pinckney, Roxanne Krumel of Owosso; three sons Lawrence (Janice) Bergman of Brooklyn, Kirk (Genese) Bergman of Camden, Mich., and Robert (Sue) Bergman of Westland; one sister Helen Johnson of Pahrump, Nev.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.A Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
