Ruby M. “Peggy” Lister

Ruby M. “Peggy” Lister, age 85 of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 under the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born April 2, 1927 in Adrian, Mich., the daughter of William Viers and Myra Conroy. On May 25, 1947 she married James John Lister II who sadly preceded her in death on August 1, 2001.Peggy attended Ridgeway Nazarene Church and had formerly attended Clinton Church of Christ. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, singing, playing the guitar and the piano. She also enjoyed going to the casino and was an avid Bingo player. Peggy enjoyed gardening and animals, and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.Peggy is survived by one son James (Anita) Lister III of Tennessee and Florida; three daughters Gail (Larry) Ash of Tecumseh, Bonnie (Keith) Auten of Tecumseh, and Lana Lister of Grass Lake; one sister Betty (Robert) Jardine of Adrian; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved yorkie, Baby. In addition to her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Melvin, Raymond, and William; and two sisters, Doris and Iola.Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 17, at the Church of the Nazarene in Ridgeway with Pastor Ray Hansen officiating. At Peggy’s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions will be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
