Russell D. Southwell

Russell D. Southwell, age 91, of Tecumseh, passed away July 15, 2013.Russell was born October 20, 1921 in Williams County, Ohio, the son of John and Grace (Farnsworth) Southwell. On December 24. 1945 he married Glenadine Purdy and she survives.From 1942-1945 he served his country in the U. S. Army.After many years of service he retired from the Tecumseh Products.Russell was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church of TecumsehIn addition to his wife, Glenadine, Russell is survived by his children, Kathryn Fitch, Jeffrey (Selena) Southwell, Janet Kibert and David (Cathy) Southwell; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson and a brother, John. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Richard Mortimer officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, with military honors performed by the Michigan Army National Guard Honor Guard Team. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the funeral home. Messages to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
