Steven D. Losey, 49, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at his home.A celebration of life will be Monday, June 15, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.Steven was born September 4, 1965 in Alma, Mich., to Douglas and Michele (Kachilo) Losey. He married Sherri Locke and later married Stephanie Stratos.Steven attended Spring Arbor College where he studied communications and was a lifelong musician, playing guitar at a very young age. Steve used his musical ability and creative writing skills to become a freelance writer for many music publications, including Modern Drummer, Guitar Player, Hit Parader and Rocket. He was a rock-n-roll correspondent for the Detroit Free Press and MI - FOX Detroit Television, covering many well known artists. Steve worked in sales with SIT Strings endorsing major bands. Steve’s great love of music led him to play and record professionally for many years. He was always ready to jam with anyone willing and able. Steve lived life to the fullest and never compromised his faith or who he was, regardless of his surroundings.Steve was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan and enjoyed playing Frisbee Golf, Mortal Combat and Mario Kart. He was very encouraging to others and always inspired people to be the best they could.Steve is survived by his other half, Stephanie Stratos-Losey, of Coldwater, his children Joshua Wegner of Clinton, Justin Losey of Coldwater, Nicholas Losey of Chipley, Fla., Sydney Losey of Spring Arbor, Molly and Zachary Lewis, and Zoey Losey, all of Coldwater, his parents Doug and Michele Losey of South Lyon, his brothers Michael Losey of Saline, Matthew Losey of Rockford, Ill., mother-in-law Julie Stratos, both of Coldwater, grandson Conner, nieces Isabella and Stella Losey and many extended family members.Memorials may be directed to the family for funeral expenses. www.dutcherfh.com.
