Supports Dale Zorn for State Senator in Tuesday’s General Election

To The Editor,After reading the recent letters to the editor supporting Doug Spade, I am sure Mr. Spade is a caring person who meets, greets, listens, and discusses issues with people. Does that make him the best candidate to represent Lena-wee and Monroe Counties as the next 17th District State Senator? I believe not.Our next state senator must be able to articulate his positions on important issues; he must present details to inform the voters on how he will implement plans to improve Michigan. This is something Mr. Spade has not done. I’ve looked at his website.I’ve listened to his ads — I have read about him and heard what he says but there is nothing specific. How will he bring good paying jobs to Michigan and the 17th District? How will he fully fund schools? What is his plan to fix Michigan roads? Does he support the Right to Work law? The job of State Senator is much more than talking and listening; voters need specifics on how proposed plans will be accomplished.More importantly, with all the polls and political pundits projecting the Republican Party maintaining the majority in the State House and the State Senate, how will Mr. Spade accomplish any of his proposed plans that will better Michigan and the 17th District? Representing the 17th District from the minority party will mean four wasted years.Dale Zorn will listen; discuss issues and work to improve the district because he has articulated his positions on the important issues. He will be a member of the majority in the State Senate and will work with both sides of the isle and the Governor to continue making Michigan and the 17th District better for everyone.Join me in voting for Dale Zorn, our next State Senator; the best candidate for the job.Carol KnoblauchRiga
