Supports reelection of Nancy Jenkins as state representative

To the Editor,On Nov. 4th we can send our state representative, Nancy Jenkins, back to Lansing to continue efforts to improve our state economic situation. In the last four years, over 250,000 private-sector jobs have been created and currently Michigan has the lowest unemployment in six years. Before 2010, other administrations and legislatures passed a balanced budget in late September, creating uncertainty in our schools, government agencies, and for any others who depend on state funds. Nancy Jenkins sits on the appropriations committee, helping pass the budget by June so more accurate planning can be done for all concerned.Nancy introduced innovative investment crowdfunding legislation (the “Michigan Invests Locally Exemption” – MILE) that has been used as model legislation for legislators across the country and helps small businesses get the funding they need to get off the ground. She continues to help veterans by getting a bill through the legislature that allows a veteran designation on the veteran’s driver’s license, by appropriating funds to new veterans’ homes in the UP and in Grand Rapids, and by establishing a new Michigan Veterans Agency to better disseminate benefits to Michigan veterans. She sponsored a bill that protected legal gun owners’ rights by addressing FOIA issues that could otherwise allow for these law abiding citizens to be put under public scrutiny with personal information shared publicly.People who get to know Nancy see that she is genuine, honest, and hard working. Her rural/farm background, combined with her educational and work experience, give her an edge on knowledge and wisdom needed to represent the people of Lenawee County. We have the privilege of sending Nancy back to Lansing for two more years to continue to improve our local and state economic situation. Kris YeutterAdrian
