Suzanne (Suzy) Jane Baker Woodward

Suzanne (Suzy) Jane Baker Woodward, age 81, died on August 5, 2016. She was born in Mishawaka, Ind., on August 14, 1934 to Franklin Elias and Frances Genevieve Richardson Baker. Suzy married Carl J. Woodward in Clinton, Mich., on December 27, 1952. Sadly, Carl preceded her in death on July 24, 2000. She lived most of her life in Clinton and Tecumseh, moving to Concord, Mich., in 2011 where she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tamy Woodward.

Suzy is survived by her son Chris and his wife Tamy of Concord, Mich.; her daughter Amy Woodward and her husband Dave Lampson of Holt, Mich. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cailen M. Woodward of Sacramento, Calif., and Alex Woodward and his fiancé Danielle Larson both of Wayland, Mich. Suzy was fortunate to have extraordinary friends in Lois Geiger, Shirley Smith Campbell and Teddy Schindler. Lois, Shirley and Suzy’s friendship spanned 75 years. Sisters-in-law Phyllis Baker of Manchester and Sandra Poore-Baker of Clinton also survive as do many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

She liked to play bridge and poker, loved tulips and antiquing. Suzy was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Clinton.

Visitation for Suzy was held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes from 4-8 p.m.    Mass of the Christian burial was celebrated, Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Clinton at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial followed at St. Dominic’s Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton Fall Festival/Carl J. Woodward scholarship fund.
