Sylvia Elizabeth Plank

Sylvia Elizabeth Plank, age 76, loving mother, grandmother, great ma, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away on April 16, 2017 at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. She was born the daughter of Sylvester and Donna (Wintersmith) Ginn on April 11, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio. Loving wife of Kenneth L. Plank Sr. for 58 years before his death on February 18, 2017.

Sylvia devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She enjoyed sewing, cake decorating and was a wonderful cook. She loved to watch her hummingbirds that graced her farm. She loved her dog, Bitsy. She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sylvia touched many lives and she will be missed by all that love her.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Daphne Brown, Donna (Eric) Johnson, both of Adrian Mich., and Brenda (Scott) Walker of Crossville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda) Brown, Ashley (Curtis) Maynard, Kasey (Sabastin) Luck, Lauren (Josh) Miller, Brandi Walker, Christopher Ottinger and Ty Walker; great-grandchildren, Zackary Maynard, Bailey Maynard and Jackson Brown; her brother, Dan (Georgene) Ginn; her sisters, Joyce Dyke and Judy Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Kenneth Jr.; brothers, John and William Ginn; her sister and brother-in-law, Louise (John) Salwicz.

Funeral services for Sylvia were held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mark Zender officiating. Visitation was from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial followed at Ridgeway Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee County Humane Society.
