Sylvia A. Measel
Sylvia A. Measel, age 77, of Brighton, Mich., passed away December 11, 2015. She was born January 23, 1938 in Tecumseh, MI the daughter of Dr. Ralph and Edna (Mackenzie) Helzerman. Sylvia attended college at Michigan State University. On October 29, 1960, Sylvia married Dick Measel in Tecumseh and moved to Brighton. Dick and Sylvia originally met while Sylvia was showing Arabian horses, a passion of hers. She truly enjoyed antiquing and looked forward each month to her gatherings with her Tecumseh High School former classmates. Sylvia retired in 2011 after over 20 years as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant at the University of Michigan.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Dick; son Brian Measel; brother Dr. Ralph (Marilynn) Helzerman; nine nieces and two nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Keehn Funeral Home, Brighton, with Pastor Dan Michalek officiating.
Visit on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Paws with a Cause.
