Thanks supporter of annual Lenawee United Way campaign

To the Editor,Lenawee United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income, and health — the building blocks for a good life. In fact, we have three very bold goals for our community. Our goals are to: Cut the number of high school dropouts in half, cut in half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable, and increase by one third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors. With the help of our community, we can reach these goals, because we have to — for all of us! The following businesses in Tecumseh pledged their support for a better community through Lenawee United Way during the Small Business Blitz held last fall: Al Beatty Accounting, Baker Brothers, British Pantry, and Companion Animal Clinic. Also, Family Frosty, Handler Funeral Home, Howard Hanna, Tecumseh Insurance Agency, J&B Hobbies, Masterpeace Center for Counseling, Paul’s Manufactured Homes, Purse Funeral Home, Raisin Valley Golf Course, Tecumseh Place, Tecumseh Plywood, Tilton & Sons Shoes, and The Wild Iris.Several other organizations in Tecumseh conducted workplace campaigns in support of Lenawee United Way. Some of those businesses include Avery Oil & Propane, Communities in Schools of Tecumseh, City of Tecumseh, First Federal Bank, Foundation Realty, Glycon, KeyBank, Robison, Curphey & O’Connell, Spectrum Printers, Tecumseh Big Boy, Tecumseh Insurance Agency, Tecumseh Public Schools, TLC Community Credit Union, and United Bank & Trust. In addition to the funds provided through our Community Impact grants process, Lenawee United Way was able to give $28,852 directly back to organizations in Tecumseh through our Community Fund Distribution process. These programs include Communities in Schools of the Tecumseh Area, Tecumseh Service Club’s emergency needs program, and God’s Bread Basket Dinner On Us program. If you are a business or individual who would like to help advance the common good and support the 2013/14 campaign, please call 263-4696 or email ashley@lenaweeunitedway.org. Thank you to the Tecumseh Community for your continued support of Lenawee United Way. Amy PalmerExecutive Director Lenawee United Way
