Thomas P. Golema

After battling kidney cancer for 17 months, Thomas P. Golema, 39, of Jasper passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at his home.He was born June 11, 1974, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the son of Thomas and Cynthia (Christner) Golema. He graduated from Britton High School with the Class of 1993. From 1994 – 1997, Thomas served in the United States Navy working on a peacekeeping mission in Haiti.On December 4, 2004, Thomas married Lisa Killion in Defiance, Ohio, and she survives.Tom worked at the Saline plant for Ford Motor Company since 1999.He was a devoted husband and father. In addition to his parents, Thomas and Cynthia Golema of Britton, and his wife, Lisa; Tom is survived by their daughter, Evelyn “Evie” at home; brother, David (Rachel) Golema of Saline; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Nancy Killion of Defiance; sister-in-law, Kerri (Don) Mueller of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; nephews, Henry and William Mueller; and numerous extended family members as well as his four cats.He was preceded in death by his son, Sean Patrick Golema; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Margaret Christner and paternal grandparents, Peter and Catherine Golema.Funeral services took place Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Wagley Funeral Home with burial at Fairfield Cemetery.
