Thomas Raymond Gilbert
Thomas Raymond Gilbert, age 66, of Tecumseh died Monday, December 10, 2012 in the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor after a long fought battle with a heart condition. He was born August 3, 1946 in Ann Arbor to Francis Raymond and Evelyn June (Stueckmann) Gilbert. On June 29, 1968 in Ann Arbor he married Jane Richards. Tom was a carpenter at the University of Michigan Hospital. He loved spending time with his family, camping, being outdoors, and caring for his pets. Tom loved supporting his grandchildren in their sports.In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by two sons, Thomas (Lisa) Gilbert of Tecumseh and Daniel (Krista) Gilbert of Sterling Heights; one daughter, Caitlin (Paul) Vuocolo of Ypsilanti; two grandsons, Austin and Alexander Gilbert and one granddaughter, Valerie Gilbert; and one brother, Edwin Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his parents.Cremation has taken place.Visitation for Thomas will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Michigan, Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Program, fund number 316227, checks payable to the University of Michigan or the Lenawee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
