Township residents warned of thefts from vehicles

The Raisin Township Police Department (RTDP) is warning residents to lock their vehicles, even if vehicles are parked in driveways, after a string of thefts from vehicles occurred around the township Monday into Tuesday, Sept. 7 and 8. The thefts occurred on Arrow Lane, Gove Court, Bailey Drive, Webster Way and Cobblestone Ridge, according to news reports. Items stolen include mostly small amounts of money and other small items such as hand tools. However, news reports state $50 cash and credit cards were stolen in one instance while a $600 camera with 10 memory cards were stolen in another. A Samsung tablet computer and a semi-automatic handgun valued at $600 were taken in a third theft. Tecumseh Police Department has reported no thefts from vehicles Monday or Tuesday, Sept. 7 and 8. Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call the RTPD at 424.4615
