Tribe's boys lacrosse team defeats Bulldogs 19-3

Tecumseh’s varsity boys lacrosse team defeated visiting Chelsea 19-3 in pre-regional action on Thursday, May 24, to advance in post-season action.Shane Lewandowski scored five goals and tallied three assists to lead the Indians’ offense.The Indians slammed the Bulldogs’ net for a 13-1 lead at the end of the opening half.Tecumseh’s Tristan Burkhard added three goals and one assist: Stephen Bloxam, four goals and two assists; Anthony Ialacci, two goals, four assists, and six ground balls.Matt Scheffler and Peter Rathsack (8 groundballs, 2 takeaways) dominated faceoffs, winning 10-of-13 when on the field for the Indians. The Indians’ defense was led by Charlie Haessler (5 groundballs, 3 takeaways).The Indians were scheduled to play in the regional semifinal against Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard on Wednesday, May 29 at Dexter, 7 p.m. Results will be reported in next week’s Herald.
