Virginia L. McDonnell
Virginia L. McDonnell, age 86, of Tecumseh, passed away May 4, 2014.Mrs. McDonnell was born May 30, 1927 in Harbor View, Ohio the daughter of William Henry and Myrtle (South) Rhodes. On June 10, 1950 she Married Wayne J. McDonnell in Napoleon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1990.Virginia resided in the Tecumseh area since 1953 and retired from Peerless Gear in Clinton. Virginia is survived by a daughter Faye (Dan) Adkins of Tecumseh and a son Dennis (Rebecca) McDonnell of Clinton; two grandchildren, Matthew (Emily) McDonnell and Kylene McDonnell; two great grandchildren, Henry and Clara McDonnell; two sisters; Ataka Royce of Tulsa, Okla., and Joy Cox of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; two brothers; Jim (Gertrude) Rhodes of Glasgow, Ky., and Paul (Shirley) Rhodes of Garland, Texas and step grandsons, Stephen, Justin, and Nathan Adkins.She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill and Dwight Rhodes.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Brian Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, Mich. Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.Messages to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhme.com.
