Vivian Belle (Hooper) Bunch

Vivian Belle (Hooper) Bunch was born March 26, 1928 in New Tazewell, Tenn., and died October 21, 2016 at home in Tecumseh, Mich. She married Roy Cecil Bunch on December 24, 1946 in Dalton, Ga. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1998.

She is survived by sons Rick (Pam) Bunch, and Doug (Karen) Bunch; daughter Karen Bunch; grandchildren Sue Bunch, Kathy (Jeff) Davis, Carie Piercy, Kelly (Neil) O’Donnell and Dan (Shannon) Bunch, Kristin (Richard) Walden; great-grandchildren Holly and Brandon Quigley, Tess and Kate O’Donnell, Ryan, Charlie, and Connor Bunch, Madalynn, Max, Calvin and Audrey Walden; great-great grandson, Jacob Quigley and several nieces and nephews in Tennessee.

She was a caring, devoted mother, granny, nanny and aunt to her beloved family and Vivian had a legion of family friends who claimed her as their honorary mom. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she welcomed them with a hug and a generous helping of her delicious southern-style meals. She always had “plenty of food,” and could stretch any meal to accommodate those gathered.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Dennis; daughter-in-law Clare; sisters Lee Etta Snodgrass, Otie Mae Wells and Lillian Hill; brother Reverend Mont Hooper; brother-in-law Troy Bunch; sister-in- law Ruth Earls, and parents Bernie and Ida (Keck) Hooper.

Vivian owned Vivian’s Ladies Apparel in downtown Tecumseh for over 20 years. She was a member of Duncan Chapel Baptist Church in New Tazewell, Tenn., and a founding member of the Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church. Living her faith daily, Vivian was always there for someone in need, not only by listening, but by doing whatever she could to help.

Funeral services for Vivian were held Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at the Tecumseh First Presbyterian Church. Burial  was at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, Mich.
