William Edward Reginald Lewis
William Edward Reginald Lewis, age 81, of Tecumseh, passed away September 10, 2013.William was born March 11, 1932 in Detroit, Mich., the son of John and Phyllis (Taylor) Lewis.On January 19, 1957 he married Bernice Minch in Redford, Mich., and she preceded him in death February 4, 2012. For 50 years he was a journeyman plumber for Plumbers Local 98, retiring in 1985. One of his loves was woodworking, but his greatest love was singing with his family.William is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Garry) Coffman and Karen (Matt) Horvath; sisters, Phyllis Lewis and Florence Lewis; grandchildren, Greg, Justin (Ashley), Jason, Lindsay (Jon) and Kerri and great grandchildren, Ashley, Adrienne and Benjamin. In addition to his wife, Bernice, he was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard and brother, Norman.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Chris Cadwallader officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Michigan Army National Guard Honor Guard Team. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh at a later date.Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. also Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 preceding the service at 2 p.m. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
