The MOMS Club of Tecumseh will host a guest speaker, Carey Johnson, floral designer from Carey Johnson Designs at its upcoming member meeting on Thursday, March 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the basement of the Tecumseh Public Library.
Johnson will demonstrate how to make a spring floral arrangement and all attendees will be taking one home that they create.

The MOMS Club is a support group specifically for the mother-at-home in Tecumseh and surrounding areas, all meetings are held during the day and mothers may bring children to anything the club does.

THE BEARS LAIR Playground and Wellness committee is sponsoring the fourth annual Sal’s Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction/THS Jazz Band Night on March 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Patterson Elementary School gym, 401 N.VanBuren.

Tickets are available for two seatings, the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. Kids five and under eat free. Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door.

The next meeting for a Lenawee County Chapter of PFLAG will be held Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in Room 114 on the first floor of the Dominican Hall classroom building at Siena Heights University on Siena Heights Drive. There will be a sign outside the door. Part of the meeting will include previewing a documentary movie.


PFLAG is a nationwide non-profit organization for Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. It has been in existence since 1972 and currently has over 200,000 members in 500 chapters nationwide. Its purpose is to provide support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning individuals, their families and friends.

The Fitness Connection of Tecumseh is  offering several programs and
 specials during the month of April to help you  maintain your New
 Year’s resolution or just get in shape for the summer.

 The Fitness Connection will hold Open House Saturday’s from 8:00
 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. throughout April.  Non-members are welcome to attend the
 open  houses for the fitness center and group exercise classes at no cost
 when  accompanied by a current member of the fitness center.  Group
 exercise classes  available on Saturdays include an indoor cycling class at
 8:30 a.m. (must call ahead of time  to reserve a bike), an
 Instructor’s Choice exercise class at 9 a.m.,  which varies each week
 to showcase one of the many classes we offer or  introduce new classes, and
 a Hatha Yoga class at 10 a.m..

 Free group exercise classes are available  for members all month long and
 include Hatha Yoga, Pilates, Step & Tone and  Core & More!  Discounted
 membership fees are also available for Kickboxing,  Indoor Cycling, Kosho
 Shorei Ryu Kempo, Aikido, and our new Dynamic Power  Vinyasa Yoga available

The Nature Conservancy in Michigan is looking for volunteers to help remove invasive species at the Ives Road Fen Preserve near Tecumseh.  If you are over the age of 15, you can join the Habitat Restoration Team.  The dates to volunteer are on the following Saturdays: April 5, April 12, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17 and May 31 and also Monday, April 21.  The time of the event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please remember to bring boots and a sack lunch. Hospice of Lenawee, Weber Center and the Hospice Foundation of America will host the 15th Annual National Bereavement Telecon ference, “Living with Grief: Children and Adolenscents” on April 16 from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. at the Weber Center, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian.

The teleconference will focus on the experience of grieving children and adolescents and the ways that all hospice professionals, educators and counselors, parents, social workers, physicians, grief counselors, funeral directors, and clergy can best support these populations as they cope with loss and grief.
