Lenawee County Family Researchers will hold a special event on Tuesday, November 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lenawee VoTech Center, 1372 N. Main St. (M50), Adrian, MI.   Members will be showing family scrapbooks, genealogy notebooks, filing systems, and photo restoration. This event is open to the public.  Come and see how other people handle their family research, talk to other researchers, and pick up some tips.

IF YOU SHOP VIA THE internet, or would like to, but don’t know where start, then you may attend a free internet shopping class.  The class will be held Monday, Nov. 17 from 7-9 p.m. at the NewSong Connection Center, 133 W. Chicago Blvd., downtown Tecumseh.
The class will offer how to shop all your favorite stores from one location, how to save money using coupons, discounts, hot deals, free shipping and more.
Handout material will be provided.

The Fibromyalgia and Arthritis Support Group will host a special presentation called “A Simple Alternative to Pain.” The presenters will be Nancy Trudeau, OTR, and Kimberly Burns. 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Britton Bethel Baptist Church, 296 S.
Main St., Britton.  The seminar will provide comfort and given advice

The third annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be served on Thursday, Nov. 27, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Tecumseh Middle School.
Everyone is welcome to come and share a meal and fellowship with other members of the community. Guests should use the south entrance of the school, located at 307 North Maumee Street.
Volunteers are still needed to serve or deliver homebound meals, and those interested in helping should call Matt or Pam Oren at 423-4040. Donations of food and funds also are welcome and details may be obtained by making a call.
Calls also may be made to arrange for a meal to be delivered to a homebound person.

“DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays,” is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce. The seminar will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Ogden Church, 3201 East U.S. 223, Adrian. Child care is provided by pre-registration. There is a charge of $4 for this event. The “Surviving the Holidays” seminar features practical suggestions, guidance and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, experts in divorce-related care and people who have experienced the holidays after separation or divorce. Topics to be discussed include, “Why the Holidays are Tough,” “What Emotions to Expect,” “How to Plan and Prepare,” “How to Handle Uncomfortable Situations,” and “Using the Holidays to Help You Heal.” Those who attend will receive a book with over 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival. Main St. (M-52), in Adrian, Michigan.  Bring a dish to pass, place setting, and drink of choice.   This will also be our annual fund raiser, a White Elephant Sale.  Come see what we have “found” in our closets.
Speaker for the evening will be William J. Priest, presenting “Googling for Books.”  Priest is a records manager and has advanced training in disaster prevention and recovery and methodologies of filing systems.  He has been a genealogy presenter and teacher for many years and has written several magazine articles for various genealogy magazines.  He is a member of Genealogy by Computer Society of Toledo, Ohio Genealogical Society, National Genealogical Society, and Association of Professional Genealogists.

Farber Women’s Health Center.  The public is welcome.
