The annual Center for Excellence Crop Day will be held on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the Christian Family Centre on U.S. 223 in Adrian. The day will include crop results from Center for Excellence host farmers Tim Stutzman and Blaine Baker. A lineup of great presenters, including Kip Cullers, the grower who put Southwest Missouri on the map with back-to-back world soybean yield championships and numerous National Corn Yield contest wins will make the day a “must see” event.
Registration starts at 8:15 a.m. with the program following at 9 a.m. Reservations are needed in advance for the lunch count, by calling 263-7400 Ext. 5. RUP and CCA credits will be available and the event qualifies as a MAEAP Phase 1 approved meeting.

CHURCH WOMEN United of Lenawee County will be holding its annual potluck on Friday, Jan. 9, at noon at the St. Joseph’s activity center. Please bring your own table service and a dish to pass. Please use the west entrance to the center.
Jane Siedel of the St. Mary’s Food Pantry will speak at the meeting. Officers will also be elected for the new year.

Karen Ansley Krugman will speak on "Color Your Ancestor Alive." Krugman is a professional genealogist, author, and speaker. She has been doing genealogy for about 20 years, of which nine were professional. She has written four books on family history, and the fifth book is in progress, being prepared for publication. This free program is presented by LCFR and Tecumseh District Library. Anyone who is interested in genealogy is welcome.
