B-D takes five, Clinton eight

Clinton's girls picked up eight victories at Britton-Deerfield's un-scored varsity co-ed track invitational on Friday, May 8, while the hosting Patriots won five events during the windy afternoon.

Rachel Smith earned a first place for B-D in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:21 and the Patriots won four relay events including the 400-meter (Ishah Ahmed, Lexie Forche, Monique Pollock, Sarah Short, 56.27) the distance medley (Anna Burnor, Stacie McMullen, Paige Goll, Rachel Smith, 15:13), the Buffalo (Cote Witt, Amber Stoner, Katlin Morris, Beth Mills, 1:04.87) and the 1,600-meter (Sarah Short, Paige Goll, Ishah Ahmed, Sydne McMullen, 4:39.88) relays.

Clinton's Taylor Krauss placed first in two events, the shot put (34'11”) and discus (98'10”). Hannah Payne placed first for Clinton in the long jump (15'2”) while Ruth Lovejoy placed first in the high jump (4'10”). Brook Scheffler won the 300-meter low hurdles (54.69) and the Redskins also placed first in the B-D Relay (Hannah Porter, Zach Gilben, Brooke Scheffler, Davey Penterics, 7:30.37), the 800-meter relay (Hannah Payne, Adrian Bragg, Rachel Gibson, Ruth Lovejoy, 1:56.68), and the Red/Blue Relay (2:57.18).
B-D's boys were unable to record a first place finish but had three second place runs. Brady Southward placed second in two events, the 100- (11.84) and 400-meter (54.09) dashes. B-D also placed second in the Red/Blue Relay (3:02.62).

Clinton's boys had nine wins including Aaron Tice in the shot put (34'10”), Anthony Robinette, in the discus (106' 1 1/4”), Rick Smith, in the high jump (6'2”) and 400-meter dash (52.90) and Tyler Bevier, in the 300-meter low hurdles (44.71). Clinton also won the B-D Relay (7:30.37), the 800-meter Relay (Tyler Bevier, Kurowicki, Aaron Newsted, Forrest Griffin, 1:41.09), the 400-meter relay (Jake Tuckerman, Zack Gilbert, Deven Dusseau, Kevin Cook, 49.37), the Red/Blue Relay (Hannah Payne, Alan Kurtz, Rachel Gibson, Rick Smith, 2:57.18) and the 1,600-meter relay (Rick Smith, Steve Kurowicki, Forrest Griffin, Tyler Bevier, 3:53.5).
