Event coming up in June to benefit new Britton Play Park

To the Editor,

Much has been said and printed about the efforts put forth by the Village of Britton and the various entities of the Britton-Macon School to fund a new Play Park for the members of this and surrounding communities.

The Britton Parks and Recreation Board along with many volunteers will unite to build a playground that benefits everyone in the school and local communities. The build will be held on June 12, 13, and 14 at the Britton Park located behind the Britton-Macon School.  The money for this project was raised through donations from the Village of Britton, Britton-Macon PTO, Britton Education Foundation, Lenawee Foundation, Lowe’s of Adrian and Britton-Macon Board of Education.  Donations of food, money and equipment from many local businesses will help to fund the Community Build held on the above dates.

Our children need somewhere clean and safe to play, while the adults need a friendly place to gather.  This project is important to us all. Here is an opportunity for all of us to invest in a positive change for our children and our community.  Volunteers have formed teams for volunteer recruitment, food donations, fundraising, tool collection and children’s activities.  They are now soliciting donations and volunteers to ensure that the Play Park build is on schedule.

I invite you all to join us in this project to build a better future for our children.  We all have something to offer and your contribution is needed by the children of Britton-Macon school and Village of Britton.  Call Christy Stuart at 517-451-2701 to make a donation, volunteer or to just find out more about how you can help.
