My mom renders this area in oil paintings
While I was trying to come up with a blog idea, I skipped over to my mother's blog to see what she's been up to. She doesn't really write about what she's been up to in her blog. Instead, she does a painting a day and posts the finished product on her site.
Yes, this might be a bit of a plug for her, but I wouldn't have blogged about it were it not for the fact that her recent paintings are of photographs she took at the end of May and the beginning of June right here in the Tecumseh, Britton and Tipton areas. She has several paintings she's done recently that document this area, and I thought I'd share them, partly because she's my mom and partly because they are just beautiful paintings.
Most people who know me know that my mother is my biggest creative influence. If I have an eye for capturing scenes in words, it's because she taught me how to see things with an artist's eye.
The attached painting is a rendering of a photograph she took at Bird Park in Tecumseh. More of her paintings can be seen at www.mariatrapani.blogspot.com.
