Here is an interesting link to story that discusses payouts struggling states are giving in tax incentives to the movie industry, Michigan included, and how states are not even breaking even in return.

States give Hollywood a fortune in tax breaks

It's not that I think it's a bad thing having movies made here in Michigan. I'm as intrigued by it as the next person. I just found the article interesting.
