Leadership in power has us ‘going in wrong direction’

To the Editor,

In response to the mayor’s letter (Tecumseh Herald, June 28, 2009):
It’s about our choices.  It’s not about what our mayor or Obama or Granholm or the hundreds of power hungry hypocrites in Lansing and Washington think.

My wife and I buy locally whenever possible. We have a Ford Ranger made in Mexico and a Honda made in Ohio.  If I had the money I would drive a Ferrari.  Does that make me un-American? How about Vermont cheese, Canadian whiskey, Vietnamese shrimp?
As of today I can still choose my doctor (Chelsea Hospital), set my thermostat on whatever, and drive whatever I can afford.  Thanks to the people in congress who have the same attitude as our mayor this will soon change.

In his editorial he states that money is tight.  Apparently he missed the article on the new football field.

We are headed in the wrong direction with the leadership that has been put in power.  Let’s elect a stay-at-home mom for mayor or a farmer for school board president or a returning Iraq or Afghan vet for congress.  Let’s elect real people who will keep our choices as Americans.
