Tecumseh Herald

Health card intended to identify those eligible for health care

To the Editor,

I have enjoyed your paper for many years, and especially enjoy reading the enlightening and sincere letters to the editor. I wrote a while ago about one of your writers — let’s call him the Tecumseh Rush “Limberger,” and yes, I mean Doug Myers.

Do you hate everyone Mr. Myers and do you think that most people think in the same vein as you? Can you possibly believe everything, or anything, you write? Apparently you do. No need to ask you if you are a Republican as you make your politics extremely clear. You are enraged that everyone may wind up with a health card and even more enraged because you are under the impression that “illegal immigrants” will be afforded health care. That is what the health card is intended for; you will have to be a citizen to have one. I have a health card as do, per your quote, 50 percent of the people in the USA do.

I pay dearly for my card, which is an addendum to my Medicare. Because both you and I can afford our insurance, are you under the impression or conviction that we have ours, and to heck with the rest of you? Unfortunately, I read your letter right after reading this week’s (Oct. 8) Potpourri.

While I am on a roll: Lee Smith, I think you should take a vacation and get your thinking straight. I believe you are taking yourself too seriously. The Tecumseh Herald is not a tabloid and if you cannot find something nice to say about Tecumseh and its residents, I suggest you just turn it off. It is really a shame as you are a great writer and I have enjoyed almost every one of your articles in the past.

"Rush Limberger"   HA!  Your creative juices were flowing on that one there Earl old man!  Haven't heard that one yet today.

Unfortunately the only "roll" you were on were the wheels of your walker. Why don't you stick to your retirement community shuffleboard instead of long distance agitating here in the soon-to-be snow belt. If you don't like what you are reading in Tecumseh paper, I'm sure AARP magazine has some good Jane Fonda articles for you to read and drool on.  Bet you were thrilled when they honored Harry Belafonte.

"Paging Mr. Cook, your spongebath is ready."

Paging CheeseFan

Guess what?  If you're lucky enough you'll be rollin' the wheels of your walker in a retirement community someday!  HA, HA!  Hate to break it to you but NOBODY gets out of aging.  How about a little intelligent rhetoric here instead of childish attacks.

Childish?

Oh?? And calling Mr. Myers names like "Rush Limberger" ISN'T a childish attack?

Besides, I don't like the wheels, I prefer the cut tennis balls on my walker.
