Raisin Township accident claims life

A two-vehicle crash in Raisin Township on Friday night claimed the life of Linda Denise Bidwell, 53, of Adrian. The driver of a van, Carin Lynn Tilley, 38, of Britton, was taken to Herrick Medical Center and was listed in stable condition on Saturday.

The 6:45 p.m. crash took place on Rogers Highway just north of Kopke Highway, and was policed by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department. Raisin Township emergency personnel responded and were assisted by The Tecumseh Fire Department and Lenawee Community Ambulance. Bidwell was northbound when her vehicle went onto the
shoulder, causing it to slide sideways and into the path of the oncoming van. Roads were snow covered and slippery at the time of the accident, with county emergency personnel responding to several other accidents Friday afternoon due to conditions after the snow began to fall.

Bidwell was employed as a respiratory therapist at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Robert D. Bidwell, a son, Jason Brown, stepsons Robert and Joshua Bidwell, and stepdaughters Pam Howell and Alexis Howell-Kubler, and one grandson, Ryan Bidwell.
