Hornets defeat Indians

Saline’s Hornets came to Tecumseh’s Community Pool on Thursday, Jan. 28, and defeated Tecumseh’s varsity boys swim and dive team 122-64.

The Indians were able to pull off four victories in the 12-event meet. Alden Eubanks won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.81.

Jalen Jennings placed first in 1 meter diving with a score of 200. The nearest competitor, Saline’s Ethan Johnson, was more than 12 points behind with 187.70.

Jennings also won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.33.

Jonathen Collins won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.35. Austin See finished third in the race with 1:03.83.

Patrick McAran placed third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.87) while Collins was third in the 200-yard IM (2:09.84). Park placed third in the 100-yard freestyle while Matt Neitman was fourth (1:00.78).

The Indians finished third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.61, Jennings, Takumi Ogata, Collins, See), second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:47.35, Greg Park, Alden Eubanks, Patrick McAran, See) and second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:36.77, Park, McAran, Eubanks, Collins). See also placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.40).

The Indians compete next at home on Thursday against visiting Monroe and Adrian. The meet begins at 6 p.m., at the Tecumseh Community Pool.
