Floyd D. Johnson
Floyd D. Johnson, 90, of Clinton died at home Saturday, July 30, 2010. He was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Clinton, the son of Elmer and Lillie (Traub) Johnson. He was married to Cecelia Nocerini on Aug. 5, 1950 and she survives.
Floyd was an electrician with Ford Motor Co. for 22 years, retiring in September 1982. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Floyd enjoyed gardening, bowling, hunting and fishing and loved to dance.
In addition to his wife, Cecelia, Floyd is survived by one sister, Marietta Rafferty of N.C. and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Judy Ann; one brother, Eugene; and two sisters, Margaret Goshorn and Betty Schwab. Floyd will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation was held at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes on Sunday, Aug. 1. The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 2 with Sr. Helen Walling, I.H.M. officiating. Interment followed at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
