David Owen House

David Owen House, 80, of Tecumseh, died Sept. 9, 2010, at home, under the care of Hospice.  He was born March 16, 1930, in Detroit, the son of Elmer and Abbie (Smith) House.  He was united in marriage to Glenda Holmes on Feb. 12, 2006, and she survives.

David was a member of First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Tecumseh, a lifetime member of the Rawsonville Shrine Club, and a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Tecumseh, Mich. and Fredericktown, Ohio.  He was a mechanical engineer at Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville Plant, for over 30 years until retiring in 1988.  He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and computers and was known as “Mr. Fixit.”  David loved to travel with his wife and dear friends Sherry and Denny Bryan.

David is survived by his wife, Glenda; his daughters, Carolyn House of Newhall, Calif., Diana House, of Tecumseh, and Dr. Kathryn (Frank) Mangone of Hillendale, Calif.; his step-children Kimberlie, Richard, Shelly, Carla, Terry, and Mary;  one brother, Gerry (Sondra) House of Tecumseh; and two sisters, Barbera Becky, of Adrian and Florine (Clark) Pearson of Tecumseh; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Floradel; and one brother, Carson.

A memorial service for David will be held at the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Alan Maki officiating.  Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.  The Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #69, Tecumseh will start the service.  Food and fellowship will follow.
