TV crew shoots film for ‘Best Schools’ program on WXYZ

You'll have to excuse Freedom.  He's simply won't believe the depth of the problem at the High School and will blame everyone BUT the teachers.

 It's people like him that perpetuate the problem instead of helping identify what is really going on.

YES! This is true! The principle took time out of the day, important class time!, to drill the students of how poorly the kids in the school are doing.  AHHHHHHHHH! Let's not forget, however, that we are the best schools in the state!! WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!

No, the school would probably not post it, a newspaper or other watch group might ... IF IT WERE TRUE ...  But NO WORRIES, we have some anonymous poster name "Tecumseh Resident" who is providing us with all these shocking statistics carefully investigated and proven to be factual because he/she "heard them from a H.S. Freshman". 

You too can "find a HS freshman" and get your own 'factual data' ...  for a mere $19.95 ... just call 1-555-GET-UFAX.  Ain't technology great?

Quit being part of the problem and seek the truth.  All you have to do is ask any Freshmen student.

 Also, it's pretty immature to always assume that those who post facts that you don't like are just the same person.  You've become a real buffoon.

Check the facts out then check back with an apology.

My child is a Freshman.  Yes, my child along with all the Freshman was called to a meeting concerning half the Freshman class is failing at least one course.  My child said graphs were shown with all the statistics.  The class most being failed was English. 

Thankfully and through hard work, my child is doing well at the school - all As and college bound courses.

I found this English issue interesting.  I have only had one student go through the English at the middle school level.  And the 8th Grade English teacher, Mrs. Adams, has outstanding course content.  Oh some of it may seem repetitive, but my child is a better writer because of her methods. 

And, I agree parents must be involved.  Just before mid-term exams and grades were coming out, I emailed each of my child's teachers and asked if there were any areas where my child could improve and expressed to the teacher when my child really enjoyed their class.   With a couple of classes,  I also expressed some concerns about the organization of some course content and materials that make it difficult to know what information the student should be studied for midterms. 

I only received a response from one out of six teachers.

(I know the emails went through because of past correspondences.) Overall, my gut tells me much of the probably lies in the high school teachers teaching in such an abstract presentation and changing gears midstream - that the students have trouble transitioning from the middle school style to the high school level and style.  These first year students need coaching on how to prepare for exams.  I wish we would get back to - here is a block of material and exam questions will come from these sections.   

It is frustrating when your student comes home and says I have a test, but I am not clear what material will be covered on the exam or what to study. 

Or, these grades have not been entered into the computer so I don't know if they will count on this grading period...or I don't know where I stand in the class because my teacher says there are more grades to go into the computer yet.
