Indians beat Allegan, advance to state semifinal

Tecumseh's No. 3 ranked varsity wrestling team eliminated No. 6 ranked Allegan 31-24 on Friday evening in Battle Creek to advance to the Division 2 semifinal round against No. 2 ranked Greenville on Saturday morning at Kellogg Arena at 11:45 a.m.Tecumseh went into the last quarterfinal bout against Allegan with a slim 25-24 lead and secured the victory with Jeff Jenkins recording a pin (3:48) at 130-pounds to remain undefeated. The Indians’ overall record is 41-2 while Greenville’s is 32-2. The winner of the semifinal match will take on No. 1 ranked St. Johns (30-0) or No. 4 ranked Lowell (25-6) in the MHSAA championship final at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
