John Paul Penterics
John Paul Penterics, age 82, of Clinton died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, in Tecumseh Place with his family at his side and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born April 16, 1928, in Dundee, Mich., the son of Steven and Anna (Takacs) Penterics. He was married to Norma Jean Pucylo on Oct. 14, 1950, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 29, 1988.
John attended Grace Bible Church. He was the owner/operator of Penn Acres, Inc., and a lifetime farmer. John was a silver solderer at Tecumseh Products for 30 years until taking a medical retirement in 1978, but continued working on his farm and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
John is survived by one son, David (Darlene) Penterics of Clinton; two daughters, Diane Samples of Pinckney and Christine (Robert) Perrine of Toledo; one brother, Andy (Carol) of Dundee; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Katelyn, and Davey Penterics, Jennifer and Jonathan Samples, Natalie and Stephanie Perrine.
In addition to his wife, Norma, John was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joseph, Steven, Julius; his twin Frank, and William; two sisters, Ethel and Liz Brososky; and one grandson, Timothy Perrine. John was a loving father, brother, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes on Saturday, Aug. 28. The funeral service was held at the Grace Bible Church on Sunday, Aug. 29, with Pastor Lawrence LaFollette officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an Agricultural Scholarship Fund to be set up in John’s name or to the Lenawee County Conservation League.
